School of Education
The School of Education at Aquinas College is committed to empowering teachers to make a difference for each student they teach. Our entire curriculum is based upon Catholic teaching and recognizes that every student is created in the image of God and is blessed with inherent dignity and eternal worth.
Aquinas College offers undergraduate programs to prepare candidates for education licensure in the State of Tennessee. The areas of specialization are Elementary Education (K-6), Secondary Education (English), and Secondary Education (History). Students in the School of Education gain extensive classroom experience that enhances the level of confidence necessary to begin the practice of teaching. The School of Education also offers three masters degrees.
Graduate studies in the School of Education include a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning for those already in the teaching field, and two Master of Arts Teaching, K–6 and 7–12 grades respectively, for those holding bachelor degrees in other fields who would like to pursue teaching.
Aquinas College also offers summer courses for educators.
